Instructions for Pumpkin Bookmark:

Materials:
sport weight cotton in orange
sport weight cotton in brown
sport weight cotton in green

hook: 2.5 mm conversion chart
tapestry needle for sewing in ends

Abbreviations:
ch: chain
sl: slip
st: stitch
dc: double crochet
sc: single crochet
RS: right side
WS: wrong side

Instructions:

DO NOT JOIN ROUNDS. PLACE MARKER TO MARK END OF
ROUND UNLESS INDICATED.

Rnd 1:using 2.5 mm hook ch 2; work 7 sc in second ch from hook;
place marker.
Rnd 2. Work 2 sc in each st around; place marker . (14 sts)
Rnd 3:Work 2 sc in first st, sc in next st; *(work 2 sc in next
st, sc in next st); repeat from * around; place marker. (21 sts)
Rnd 4. Work 2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, *(work 2 sc in next
st, sc in next 2 sts); repeat from * around; place marker. (28 sts)
Rnd 5. Work 2 sc in first st, sc in next 3 sts, *(work 2 sc in next st,
sc in next 3 sts) repeat from * around; fasten off. (35 sts)

Stem:
Attach brown with sl st to top of pumpkin. Ch 4; sl st back into same st
as brown was joined.

Tendril:
Using green and 2.5 mm hook ch 6, work 3 sc in second ch from hook
and work 3 sc in each ch across. Attach to top of pumpkin beside stem.

Tail:
Attach orange with sl st at bottom center of pumpkin. ch 40 sl st in 4th
ch from hook. (the loop that the unworrked chains is where the tassel will
go) sl st in each st across; sl st into first st where orange was attached.

Make small tassel from orange and attach to the loop at the bottom of the
tail.
