Materials:
40 gr of sport weight yarn
small amount of other color for hat with flower.
Crochet Hook: 3.5mm (E)
Tapestry needle for sewing

Abbreviations:
ch: chain
st(s): stitch(es)
RS: right side
WS: wrong side
BLO: back loops only
FLO: front loops only
sl: slip
sc: single crochet
sc dec: single crochet decrease
yo: yarn over

Special Stitches:
Single Crochet Decrease:
Draw up a loop in each of next 2 sts; yo and draw
through all 3 loops on hook.

Instructions:
Brim:
Row 1: using 3.5 mm hook ch 11, sc in second ch from
hook and sc in each ch across; ch 1, turn. (10 sts)
Row 2: working in BLO sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Repeat row 2 until piece measures 10".
Last row: Using BLO sc in each st across; DO NOT fasten off.

Row 1:Work 42 sc evenly spaced along edge as shown in
Fig 1 from point A to point B. Place marker to mark end
of row. (Mark this side as RS)

Start working in rnds making sure to mark end of
each round with a marker.

Rnd 1: sc in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 2- 11: sc in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 12: work sc dec over first 2 sts; *(work sc dec
over next 2 sts) repeat from * around. Fasten off
leaving long end for weaving through sts of last rnd.
Weave through said sts and pull tight. Secure.
Sew brim seam and then fold 1/2 of brim upwards.

Flower:
With 3.5 mm hook ch 2, work 8 sc in second ch from hook; join with sl st
to first st.
Rnd 2: Using FLO sc in first st, ch 2, *(sc in next st, ch 2); repeat from
* around; join with sl st to top of first st. Fasten off
Rnd 3: Join yarn with sl st in first unworked BLO of last rnd; ch 4, *(sl st
in next st using BLO, ch 4) repeat from * around; join with sl st to first st.

Sew flower to hat brim.
