Materials:
The sample was made using worsted weight cotton.
Worsted weight acrylic can be used as well.

worsted weight white: 5 ounces Conversion chart
worsted weight pink: 2 ounces
worsted weight aqua: 2 ounces
hook: 5.5mm Conversion chart
tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Size
18"x20"


Gauge
7 rows = 2"
6 sts = 2 "

Abbreviations:
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
lsc: long single crochet
sl: slip
st: stitch
FLO: front loop only
BLO: back loop only
RS: right side

Special Stitches:

Make sure to make lsc same height as regular sc.

Instructions for preemie blanket:
See below for instructions for regular size baby blanket.

Row 1:Using pink ch 52; sc in second ch from hook and
sc in easch st across; ch 1, turn. (mark this row as RS
row) (51 sts)
Row 2: sc in each st across to last st making sure to
change to white in last part of last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 3: sc in first st, lsc in next st, *sc in next st;
lsc in next st; repeat from * across to last st; sc in
last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 4: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 5: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 6: sc in each st across making sure to change color
to aqua in last part of last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 7: sc in first st, lsc in next st, *sc in next st;
lsc in next st; repeat from * across to last st; sc in last
st; ch 1, turn.
Row 8: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 9: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 10: sc in each st across making sure to change color
to white in last part of last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 11: sc in first st, lsc in next st, *sc in next st; lsc
in next st; repeat from * across to last st; sc in last st;
ch 1, turn.
Row 12: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 13- 45: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 46: sc in each sc in each st across making sure to change
color to aqua in last part of last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 47: sc in first st, lsc in next st, *sc in next st; lsc in
next st; repeat from * across to last st; sc in last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 48: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 49: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 50: sc in each st across making sure to change color to
white in last part of last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 51:sc in first st, lsc in next st, *sc in next st; lsc in next st;
repeat from * across to last st; sc in last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 52: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 53: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 54: sc in each st across making sure to change color
to pink in last part of last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 55: sc in first st, lsc in next st, *sc in next st; lsc in
next st; repeat from * across to last st; sc in last st; ch 1, turn.
Row 56:sc in each st across; fasten off.

Weave in ends.

Edging:



Rnd 1: Using Fig 1 as a guide attach white with sl st in first st
of side AB; work 3 sc in same st as joining (makes 1st corner); sc
in each st across side AB to last st; work 3 st in last st (makes
2nd corner); working loosely on side BC work *sc in side of first 2
rows, skip next row ; repeat from * to last 2 sts; sc in last 2 sts;
work 3 sc in first st of side CD (makes 3rd corner); sc in each st
along side CD to last st; work 3 sc in last st (makes 4th corner);
working loosely on side BC work *sc in side of first 2 rows, skip
next row ; repeat from * to last 2 sts; sc in last 2 sts; join with
sl st to first st; DO NOT FASTEN OFF. Using FLO sl st in each st
around adjusting tension so sides lay flat; join with sl st to first
st; fasten off.

Rnd 2:Attach pink with sl st in center corner st of first corner of side
AB; work 2 sc in same st as joining; sc in each st around making sure to
work 2 sc in each center corner st; join with sl st to first st; DO NO
FASTEN OFF. Using FLO sl st in each st around adjusting tension so
sides lay flat; join with sl st to first st; fasten off.

Weave in ends.

Regular size baby blanket instructions:
To make design for a full size baby afghan (31"x33")
Ch 90; sc in second ch from hook and sc in each st across;
ch 1, turn.
Repeat rows 2- 12 as for preemie afghan.
Repeat Row 13 as for preemie blanket until piece measures
28".Make sure that last row worked is WS row.
Repeat rows 46-56 of preemie blanket.

Edging for regular size baby blanket is same as for preemie afghan.
