Instructions :
Size: Doily is 12" and coaster is 7"
Materials:
130 yds (100 m) size 10 thread (jade) (for one doily and 4 coasters)
size 1.5mm hook Conversion chart
Sewing needle for weaving in ends.
Abbreviations:
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
hdc: half double crochet
dc: double crochet
sl: slip
st: stitch
RS: right side
WS: wrong side
sp: space
Special Stitches:
Shell: work (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in st or sp indicated.
Beginning shell: ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 2 more dc, ch 3, 3 dc
all in sp or st indicated.
Beginning Double Shell: ch 3 (counts as first dc, work (2 more dc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc)
in sp or st indicated.
Double shell: (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc)
Doily:
Rnd 1: ch 8; join with sl st to first st to form ring; ch 3(counts as first dc)
work 23 more dc in ring; join with sl st to first st.(24 dc)
Rnd 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc) , dc in same st as joining ; ch 2; *skip next dc,
work 2 dc in next dc, ch 2; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of first st.
(24 dc, 12 ch-2 sps)
Row 3: sl st to first ch-2 sp, work beginning shell in first ch-2 sp and work shell
in each ch-2 sp around. Join with sl st to top of first st. (12 shells)
Rnd 4: sl st to ch-3 sp of first shell; work beginning shell in same ch-3 sp, ch 1,
*work shell in ch-3 sp of next shell, ch 1; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to
top of first st. (12 shells, 12 ch-1 sps)

ch 3; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of first st.
Rnd 7:sl st to ch-3 sp in first shell; work beginning shell in same ch-3 sp, ch 3;
work (dc in next dc, ch 1) 12 times, ch 3; *work shell in ch-3 sp of next shell, ch 3;

First pineapple:

work shell in first ch-3 sp of next shell; ch 3, turn.
Row 2: work shell in ch-3 sp of first shell, ch 3, skip next ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-3 loop;
work (ch 3, sc in next ch-3 loop) 6 times; ch 3; skip next ch-3 sp, work shell in ch-3 sp
of next shell; ch 3, turn.
Row 3: work shell in ch-3 sp of first shell, ch 3, skip next ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-3 loop;
work (ch 3, sc in next ch-3 loop) 5 times; ch 3; skip next ch-3 sp, work shell in ch-3 sp
of next shell; ch 3, turn.
Row 4: work shell in ch-3 sp of first shell, ch 3, skip next ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-3 loop;

**Next Pineapple:
Row 1:With RS facing attach thread with sl st in ch-3 sp of next shell past completed
pineapple; work beginning shell in same sp; skip next ch-3 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 loop;
work (ch 3, sc in next ch 3 loop)7 times; ch 3, skip next ch-3 sp; work shell in first ch-3 sp
of next shell; ch 3, turn.
Repeat rows 2-8 to completed pineapple.
Repeat from ** for each pineapple until all 6 have been completed.
Weave in threads. Wash and block.When dry lightly starch and iron.
Coaster:
Rnd 1: ch 6; join with sl st to first st to form ring; ch 2(counts as first hdc) work
15 more hdc in ring; join with sl st to first st.(16 hdc)
Rnd 2: ch 2 (counts as first hdc) , hdc in same st as joining ; ch 2; *skip next hdc,
work 2 hdc in next hdc, ch 2; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of first
st. (16 hdc, 8 ch-2 sps)
Row 3: sl st to first ch-2 sp, work beginning shell in first ch-2 sp and work shell in
each ch-2 sp around. Join with sl st to top of first st. (8 shells)
Rnd 4: sl st to ch-3 sp of first shell; work beginning shell in same ch-3 sp, ch 1,
*work shell in ch-3 sp of next shell, ch 1; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to
top of first st. (8 shells, 8 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 5: sl st to ch-3 sp of first shell; ch 3 (counts as first dc) work 5 more dc in ch-3 sp,
ch 3; work shell in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, *work 6 dc in ch-3 sp of next shell, ch 3,
work shell in ch-3 sp of next shell, ch 3; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of first
st.
Rnd 6: ch 4 (counts as first dc + ch 1), work (dc in next dc, ch 1) 5 more times; *work
