Materials:
small amount of size 10 thread
1.5 mm hook Conversion Chart
3" rubber ring (used in preserving)

Instructions:
Rnd 1: ch 6, join with sl st to form a circle; ch 1 (counts as first sc), work 11 MORE sc in ring; join with sl st to top of first st. (12 sc)

Rnd 2: sc in first st; ch 3, *skip next st, sc in next st; ch 3; repeat from * around; join with sl st to top of first st. (6 ch-3 loops)

Rnd 3: sl st to first ch-3 loop; ch 3 (counts as first dc), work (dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in same ch-3 loop; work (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in each ch-3 loop around; join with sl st to top of first st.

Rnd 4: sl st to first ch-3 loop; ch 3 (counts as first dc); work (dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in same ch-3 loop; ch 2; *work (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next ch-3 loop; ch 2; repeat from * around; join with sl st to top of first st.

Rnd 5: Ch 1; work sc in first st; sc in each st and ch around; join with sl st to top of first st. (54 sc)

Rnd 6: Ch 1; work 2 sc in first st, sc in next 5 sts, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts; repeat from * around to last 6 sts; work 2 sc in next 2 sts, sc in next 4 sts; join with sl st to top of first st. (64 sts)

Rnd 7: Using FLO for this round ch 3 (counts as first dc); work dc in each remaining st around; join with sl st to top of first st. The remaining BLO will be used later for sewing.

Rnd 8: Using BLO for this rnd ch 3 (counts as first dc); work dc in each dc around; join with sl st to top of first st. The remaining FLO will be used later for edging.

Place coaster face side down; place rubber ring so that outer edge of coaster and second last rnd of doily are aligned. Fold last rnd of dc over ring and using needle and thread sew into postion using unworked BLO from rnd 7 for sewing.

Edging:
Rnd 1: Holding coaster so right side is facing you attach thread with sl st in any unworked FLO from rnd 8; sc in first st, ch 2, *skip next st, sc in next st, ch 2; repeat from * around; join with sl st to first st. (32 ch-2 loops)

Rnd 2: Sl st to first ch-2 loop. Work sc in same ch-2 loop, work (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next ch-2 loop; *sc in next ch-2 loop; work (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next ch-2 loop repeat from * around; join with sl st in first st. Fasten off.
