Instructions for Santa Hat for Baby:

Materials:
small amount of worsted weight red
small amount of worsted weight white
4 mm hook

Size: Fits newborn.

To make to fit 3-6 months: use a 5.00 mm hook
Increase brim row to ch 13.
Increase 4 more rows after row 6.
Increase 3 more rounds even of sc after row 18.
Continue with rows 19 to end.

To make to fit 6-12 months: use a 5.50 mm hook.
Increase brim row to ch 16.
Increase 6 more rows after row 6.
Increase 5 more rounds even of sc after row 18.
Continue with rows 19 to end.

Abbreviations:
Sc: single crochet
Dc: double crochet
Sl: sl
St(s): stitch (es)
Ch: Chain
Sp: space
Sc dec: single crochet decrease

Special Stitches:
Single crochet decrease (sc dec)


Instructions:
Rnd 1: With white ch 10, sc in second ch from hook and sc in each ch across; ch 1, turn. (9 sc)
Rnd 2: Using BLO sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 3-36: repeat row 2
Row 37: Using BLO sc in each st across; fasten off



Row 1:Using Fig 1 as a guide attach red with sl st in first side of side AB. Work 37 sc evenly spaced from point A to point B; ch 1, turn.
Row 2: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 3-6: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 7: sc dec over first 2 sts; sc in next 4 sts; *sc dec over next 2 sts; sc in next 4 sts; repeat from * to last st; sc in last st.
Row 8: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 9: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 10: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 11: sc dec over first 2 sts; sc in next 3 sts; sc dec over next 2 sts; sc in next 3 sts; repeat from * across; ch 1, turn.
Row 12: sc in each st across; ch 1,turn.
Row 13: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 14: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 15: sc dec over first 2 sts; *sc in next 2 sts; sc dec over next 2 sts; sc in next 2 sts; repeat from * across; ch 1, turn.
Row 16: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 17: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 18: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 19: sc dec over first 2 sts; *sc in next st; sc dec over next 2 sts; sc in next st; repeat from * across; ch1, turn.
Row 20: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 21: sc dec over first 2 sts, *sc dec over next 2 sts; repeat from * across to last st; sc in last st.
Row 22-25: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 26: sc dec over first 2 sts; sc dec over last 2 sts; ch 1, turn
Row 27: sc dec; fasten off.



With WS facing and using red sl st seams together from point A to point B in Fig 2. Fasten off.
With WS facing and using white sl st seam together from point b to half way to point C; Fasten off.
Turn hat so RS facing; attach white and sl st remaining brim ends together. Turn brim back.

Make small white pompom and attach to point A.
Fold last 8 rows of hat to one side and secure into place as shown in picture.
